To the editor: TPS’ Ellis remembered for kindness
Many years ago, my baby sister was a new graduate, with an education degree from the University of Toledo. She wanted to work for the local school district of Toledo Public Schools. Not knowing where exactly to apply and very nervous as well, she waited for the elevator to arrive. It came down, the door opened. She must have looked lost enough for, what she told me she remembered, this nice, tall, Black man asked her if she needed help. She told him her situation, and this gentleman turned around and went back up in the elevator with her and showed her where to apply. She got the job. She later found out that this kind man was none other than the Honorable Dr. Crystal Ellis.
