Mark Daigneault Named NBA Coach of the Year
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault was named the NBA Coach of the Year on Sunday.
Daigneault led the Thunder to a 57-25 record in the regular season, tying for the best record in the Western Conference, and a 17-game improvement over last season.
Daigneault received 89 of the 99 first place votes, and finished with 473 total points, with Orlando's Jamahl Mosley second with 158 points.
Daigneault received 9 second place votes and one third place vote.
Daigneault is in his fourth season as the Thunder head coach.
It's the second time a Thunder coach has been named the NBA Coach of the Year.
Scott Brooks won the honor in 2009-10.
The Thunder will go for a first round sweep of New Orleans on Monday night at 7:30.
