PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The Steel Bridge may be open again after a train derailment Monday morning, but the effort to clear the area will take much longer.
Multiple train cars came off the tracks on the east end of the bridge just before 6 a.m., causing a closure that delayed MAX lines and cause the bridge to close to cars and pedestrians for several hours.
The bridge was reopened for use by 10:45 a.m. However, it is still unclear how long it will take for the train to be cleared.
The cause of the derailment remains unknown. Drone footage of the derailment can be seen in the video player above.
