Princess Charlotte’s VERY lavish life as she turns nine – from ‘£800k dolls house’ to ‘£165k gift that was 7ft wide’
SHE may be turning nine today, but Princess Charlotte is already living an enviable A-list life that seems straight from a fairytale.
From her £800,000 dolls house to meeting celebrities and jetting to £27,000-a-week Caribbean villas, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter has a charmed life.
Despite their riches, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be determined to give their kids as normal a lifestyle as possible.
However, there is no denying that Princess Charlotte’s royal life is anything but ordinary….
£165,000 painting
Many kids receive a teddy or some cute baby grows when they are born – but not everyone is Princess Charlotte.
The royal tot is said to have been gifted the very lavish present of a £165,000 painting for her christening in July 2015.
The extravagant art piece was created by artist Stephen Cawston and it was a staggering seven feet wide.
The oil painting was a replica of the original billboard for Disney‘s 1937 Oscar-winning animation Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
It was wrapped in bubble wrap and sent to Kensington Palace for the two-month-old Princess Charlotte.
Royal expert Katie Nicholls reported in Vanity Fair that the Snow White piece had been commissioned by a ‘close friend’ of the family.
It hasn’t been confirmed if Prince and Princess of Wales decided to keep the large work of art and display it.
£800,000 dolls house
A source previously told OK! USA: “She owns the most expensive toys and attends one of London’s most prestigious pre-schools.
“She truly has it all. Charlotte’s bedroom is every little girl’s dream. It has so many toys and treasures that are worth a fortune.”
The source added that Charlotte also enjoys playing with an antique dolls house worth an estimated £800,000 that has been in the Royal Family for nearly a century.
A source told OK! USA: “She loves rearranging the rooms and dressing up her dolls in charming outfits that are similar to hers.”
£30,000 toy
Princess Charlotte also gained quite the collection of rattles as a baby, but we doubt you’d find these in Boots or on Amazon.
Rather than a standard plastic toy, the royal received a stunning 18k white gold rattle encrusted with glittering gems.
Whilst the inlaid diamonds, rubies and sapphires might mean you never take it with you in the buggy, it does make for an incredible keepsake.
According to the Natural Sapphire Company, the ornate gift is so valuable that they estimated it was worth around $44,000 (£34,786).
It’s not known if she kept it, but the royal family’s stance on accepting presents is: “Gifts offered by commercial enterprises in the UK should normally be declined, unless they are offered as a souvenir of an official visit to the enterprises’ premises, to mark a Royal marriage or other special personal occasion.”
If that weren’t luxurious enough, the young princess also received a silver rattle from President Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico.
Meanwhile, former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle decided to personalise their gift with an adorable cuddly toy version of the first family’s dog, Bo.
Former Prime Minister David Cameron gave the little girl a classic childhood book: Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales.
£22,000 a year private school education
Princess Charlotte and her brothers, Prince George and Prince Louis, all go to Lambrook, an independent preparatory school near Ascot, Berkshire, after the family moved to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor Home Park.
The £22,000-a-year school boasts a 25m indoor swimming pool, with pupils having swimming lessons as part of their timetable – another sporting interest Charlotte shares with her late grandmother Diana.

PRINCE William and Kate Middleton uprooted Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, during the summer of 2022 for a more rural life.
They reportedly spent around a year hunting for a home in Windsor, which would be close to a school that they could all attend together.
They settled on Adelaide Cottage, as first revealed by The Sun, because they believed it needed no major renovations.
With its candyfloss pink exterior and rolling grounds, the royal pad looks straight from a fairytale.
It’s also perfect for the school run, as it’s a nine-mile drive to Ascot where the kids attend the £7,000-a-term Lambrook School.
There is also a full-size AstroTurf pitch, nine-hole golf course, outdoor adventure play area, polo field, bee farm and mini Masterchef club.
As well as the traditional subjects, the school offers pupils the chance to try out scuba diving and podcast making.
The fancy school charges an increasing annual fee as youngsters go through the school, meaning the three children’s education will cost a whopping £71,344 a year.
£1.7million jewellery collection
The lucky young princess will also reportedly get the first pick of Princess Diana’s family jewels one day.
It’s said she’ll one day inherit the Spencer Tiara, currently in the possession of Diana‘s brother, Earl Charles Spencer.
She is also reportedly set to inherit more than £1.7million worth of jewels from Kate, with the most valuable piece being the Queen Mary Lover’s Knot Tiara, worth a staggering £1m.
The poignant meaning behind Princess Charlotte's name
PRINCESS Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015, at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, and we’ve seen her grow into a sweet “mini-me” of mum, Kate.
She was brought into the world in the infamous Lindo Wing, and weighed 8lbs 3oz.
Her full name – Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Wales – has some very sentimental ties.
Her middle names are those of both her late grandmother, Princess Diana, and her late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II.
Star-studded, red carpet life
Princess Charlotte has already had experiences many people dream of, from red carpet events to meeting celebrities such as Sir David Attenborough.
Last year, she joined Prince George in the Wimbledon Royal Box and appeared transfixed by the spectacle, gasping as Djokovic and Alcaraz traded blows in a fiercely contested match.
For her last birthday today she was taken to a performance of Cinderella at the Royal Opera House in London as an early treat.
Audience members were stunned to see Charlotte and her friends there, and the dance-mad young royal was seen taking to the stage at the end of the performance.
Jet-setting life
While the family enjoy outdoorsy trips in the UK – such as to Balmoral, Sandringham and the Isles of Scilly – they have been on some incredible farflung breaks too.
Privacy is crucial when the royal couple plan a well-earned family break and, for that reason, they have been returning to the private Caribbean island of Mustique since 2008.
With a no fly-zone over the island and discrete, wealthy neighbours, the family can truly relax.
In 2019 they rented a private villa for two weeks, and celebrated George’s sixth birthday there, on July 22.
The £27,000-a-week villa boasts a 60ft infinity pool, private staff and stunning sea views out to the neighbouring islands of Bequia and Saint Vincent.
