According to the print edition of Record (as relayed by Sport Witness), Marcus Edwards would be keen to return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer if his former side shows interest in his services.
Back in March, A Bola claimed that the Spurs are evaluating a move to re-sign Edwards this summer, with Ange Postecoglou keen on adding a top-class wide player to his squad.
The report said that Sporting Lisbon would listen to offers starting from €20m (£17m) for the silky left-footer and it was pointed out that the Lilywhites can sign him for a discount since they have a 35 per cent sell-on clause on the player.
Edwards keen on a return to Tottenham Hotspur
It has now been suggested by Record that Edwards would look positively on the option of making a return to England, in particular a reunion with Tottenham.
The 25-year-old is thought to have a ‘desire to return home’ and is said to be keen to test himself in the Premier League.
The publication adds that a decision will be made when Edwards’ agent meets with the Sporting hierarchy at the end of the season, with the Portuguese side already alleged to be looking for a replacement for the Englishman.
Spurs Web Opinion
Edwards would boost Tottenham’s homegrown numbers and the sell-on clause would mean that they can sign the winger on a discount. The 25-year-old could be a good fit for Postecoglou’s system and would offer Kulusevski and Johnson competition for places in the side.
