Person can't be detained merely because of non-cooperation, says Bombay HC as it quashes LOC against man
The Bombay High Court has quashed a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against Sanjay Kumar Agrawal in a 2019 money laundering case related to late drug smuggler Iqbal Memon alias Iqbal Mirchi. Agrawal, who has been working in Bahrain and Dubai since 1995, was detained in India without a job due to the LOC. The ED has been investigating the case since 2019 and has not found any material against him. The court ruled that detaining Agrawal would not be appropriate as he has been deprived of his livelihood since December 2020 and has been working in the Middle East for over two decades.
