Angie Harmon Sues Instacart & Delivery Driver After Her Dog Was Shot & Killed
Angie Harmon is taking legal action after claiming that her dog was shot and killed by a delivery driver.
Back in April, the 51-year-old Rizzoli & Isles actress claimed that an Instacart delivery driver shot and killer her beloved dog Oliver at her home in North Carolina.
Now more than a month later, Angie has filed a lawsuit against the grocery delivery service and the driver, whom the suit names as Christopher Anthoney Reid, for alleged trespassing, conversion, negligence, negligent supervision/hiring, invasion of privacy and negligent misrepresentation.

However, Angie‘s lawyers claimed that Reid was the one that arrived at her property to deliver her order.
The suit alleges that Reid “was impersonating Merle on the Instacart app” and consequently, Angie had “no idea she had been communicating” with Reid, who is described as “a tall and intimidating younger man.”
Once Reid arrived on her property, Angie allegedly “heard what sounded like a gun shot” with her children in the backyard. “Terrified for her children’s safety, Ms. Harmon immediately ran downstairs to determine to source of what she thought was a gun shot,” the suit claimed.
When she arrived outside, Angie allegedly noticed Reid “was placing a gun in the front of his pants, potentially in his pant pocket. Looking to the side, she saw that her beloved dog, Oliver, was shot. Although shot, Oliver was still alive.” She then rushed Oliver to the veterinarian’s office where he died.
The docs also allege that Reid was “not inured” or “seriously threatened” by Angie‘s dog and had “ample opportunity” to leave the property unharmed without shooting the dog. Shortly after the incident, Reid alleged that he was bit by Angie‘s dog.
Angie is seeking more than $25,000 in damages, with the exact amount to be determined at trial.
Following Angie‘s lawsuit, Instacart shared a statement with EW, saying, “Our hearts continue to be with Ms. Harmon and her family following this disturbing incident. While we cannot comment on pending litigation, we have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account has been permanently deactivated from our platform.”
On Wednesday (May 15), Angie and her daughters Emery, 15, and Avery, 18, appeared on Good Morning America to discuss the incident and its impact on their family.
“It’s so unfathomable to think that there is somebody in your front driveway that just fired a gun,” Angie said. “You don’t ever forget that sound.”
