To the editor: Let farmers get into green energy
Tom Henry’s article, “Moderate to large algal bloom predicted for western Lake Erie due to heavy rain,” May 8, struck me how Ohio politics have left its residents in peril from special interests. Why we are still dealing with this is unfathomable. If the dark money interests would only allow for a sensible solutions like allowing farmers in the western Maumee drain system to move away from CAFOs and into green energy production, this would all go away. Building these CAFOs in such large numbers where so many depend on it for their water supply just can’t continue. Giving farmers a new income source is a win-win and a huge job producer for Ohio. If only the politicians would do the people’s business.
