The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from Meteorologist Kevin Appleby:
A strong ridge of high pressure continues to build over our region, which will result in a mainly dry stretch of increasingly warmer weather through the middle of the upcoming work week. Albany is now expected to reach the 90 degree mark this week - the first time since last September 7th!
Sunday was always expected to be the better of the two weekend days, and yesterday was pretty good! Skies will become increasingly sunny as the day progresses.
High temperatures will be well into the 70s, with a few spots potentially hitting 80.
With clear skies and calm winds overnight, temperatures should drop close to their averages. This setup also favors patchy fog formation, so we will need to watch for that into early Monday morning.
Any fog will burn off very quickly - likely before the heart of the Monday morning commute. High temperatures will be their warmest so far, with widespread temperatures in the low to mid 80s.
Temperatures will continue to trend upwards. If Albany doesn't hit 90 on Tuesday, I fully expect us to achieve that feat by Wednesday, which looks to be the hottest day of this stretch.
A cold front will bring a shower/t-storm chance Thursday, which will "cool" us back down into the mid to upper 70s by next weekend.
