Crews respond to Niskayuna fire on Pearse Road
Niskayuna Fire District Two and seven mutual aid organizations responded to the fire following a call that came in around 3:30 p.m.
NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A structure fire on Pearse Road in Niskayuna left the home unsalvageable on Saturday afternoon, according to Niskayuna Fire District Two Fire Chief Gerry Barbiero. Niskayuna Fire District Two and seven mutual aid organizations responded to the fire following a call that came in around 3:30 p.m.
The fire chief reported that it took roughly two hours to put the fire out, but it rekindled around 4:30 a.m. at which point crews responded again. While trying to get the fire under control, the chief said two firefighters sustained minor injuries.
No residents were inside the home during the fire. Chief Barbiero says that investigators are working to find what started the fire, but the cause is currently unknown.
