Oklahoma's softball team hit four home runs to run-rule Florida State 11-3 in five innings to take Game 1 of the NCAA Super Regional at Love's Field in Norman on Thursday.
The win was OU's 17th straight NCAA Tournament win, breaking their own record of 16 set between 2016 and 2018.
It was also the Sooners' 15th straight win in a super regional game, extending their own record.
Alyssa Brito hit two home runs, a solo homer in the third inning, and then a two-run shot in the fourth.
Tiare Jennings hit a solo homer in the first inning to get the scoring started.
Jennings' home run was her 95th career home run, tying Lauren Chamberlain for the second most in OU history and the third most in NCAA history.
Kinzie Hansen hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning as well.
In the second inning, Alynah Torres doubled in Rylie Boone to put OU up 2-0.
Torres also drove in a run on a groundout in the third inning.
OU scored five runs in the fourth inning, getting homers from Brito and Hansen, and then an RBI single by Cydney Sanders.
Florida State kept the game going in the top of the fifth inning by scoring a run, but OU ended the game in the bottom of the fifth when Kasidi Pickering walked with the bases loaded.
OU is now 19-3 in super regional home games and have won 19 of their last 20.
Game 2 is Friday at 7:00 pm.
