I’m not afraid to wear hotpants on the school run – yes I get funny looks but wait til they see my parents evening look
A YOUNG mum has insisted she doesn’t care if people give her funny looks when she wears her unique outfits on the school run.
The woman said that she was determined not to change her style when she had kids, and loves turning heads with her eye-catching ensembles.
And whether she’s doing the school pick up or going to parents’ evening, she’ll still proudly wear exactly what she wants to.
She took to TikTok to share a video of herself getting ready for the occasion, as she began by swapping her ghost-print pyjama shorts for a pair of teeny black hotpants.
She kept her thigh-high black and white socks on, and added a pair of long black boots.
The mum then kept her ghost-print bra top on, and added an oversized black jumper on the top.
She completed her look with a pair of white headphones, and a quilted black handbag.
Over the top of the TikTok video, she wrote: “What I’m wearing to parents evening.”
“Just because your name changes to mum doesn’t mean you have to change your style,” she added, encouraging people to “embrace what makes you different”.
“And yes I get funny looks in the playground,” she wrote in the caption.
Her video sparked a debate in the comments section, with some people slamming her for wearing such a skimpy outfit to parents evening.
“Not really appropriate for parents’ evening,” one person wrote.
“How embarrassing!”
“Girl these shorts are too short even for teenagers,” another added.
“I get that you want to express yourself but if only you covered up a bit it would look appropriate.”
“You have to learn to dress appropriately,” a third said.
“Like not wearing revealing clothing around kids and professionals.”
“You are meant to be a role model,” someone else wrote.

To which the mum replied: “Teaching my children to be themselves, not care what others think and to be confident in their body, even if it’s different, is being a good role model.”
But others hit back at trolls, insisting the mum looked amazing in her parents’ evening ensemble.
“Look at all the gross comments, just say you have nothing to do but judge someone and move on,” one wrote.
“YOU LOOK GREAT, LOVE THE OUTFIT!”
“As a former teacher I can safely say this would have made my night,” another said.
“They are such long grim hellish evenings.”
