In an Instagram post on Monday, Cameron Boyce’s mother responded to Adam Sandler’s sweet Happy Gilmore 2 tribute to the late Disney Channel star.
How did Cameron Boyce die?
Boyce died at age 20 in 2019 after suffering an epileptic seizure in his sleep, which was related to “an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated" at the time. Despite his tender age, Boyce had already starred in the Disney Channel series Jessie and played Sandler’s son in two Grown Ups films.

Libby Boyce took to Instagram to post a screenshot from the scene in question, which comes early on in the picture as Sandler’s eponymous golfer hits the links. As he approaches the security booth, a television in the corner is playing a scene from Jessie in which Boyce features. “Thank you @adamsandler for honoring Cam’s legacy in Happy Gilmore 2 ⛳️ ????????,” Libby captioned the post, which has so far received over 75,000 likes.
In a separate Instagram post on July 27, Libby shared an article about the cameo and revealed that Sandler and Boyce had been discussing another collaboration. “Adam and Cameron talked quite a bit in the days leading up to his death,” Libby said. “Cameron was supposed to be in Hubie Halloween, and they were strategizing. They had a bond, I think related to being authentic, funny, and just keeping it real. Adam always finds a way to keep Cam’s memory alive, which warms our heart.”

Boyce’s fans have been rapturously appreciative of his inclusion in the film, praising Sandler for the thoughtful gesture. “That was so cute!!
