Tokayev: Kazakhstan is turning into one large construction site
Tengrinews.kz — President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Kazakhstan has launched a process of structural economic reforms, with the sustainable improvement of citizens’ well-being placed at the forefront, according to Akorda’s press service.
The Head of State said industrialization is gaining momentum and a new industrial framework for the economy is taking shape.
“Thanks to major public investment and foreign direct investment, new production facilities are opening in all regions and thousands of permanent jobs are being created. Kazakhstan has launched a process of modernizing utilities, transport, energy, water and other infrastructure that is critically important for citizens’ livelihoods and economic growth. During the election campaign, you, the deputies, traveled extensively across the country and were able to see for yourselves that Kazakhstan is gradually turning into one large construction site,” the President said during the first session of the new unicameral Kurultai.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that large-scale construction requires substantial investment, including public funding.
During the event, the Head of State also emphasized that the first convocation of the Kurultai bears exceptional responsibility. The President noted that deputies must follow voters’ mandates and serve the interests of the state.
