Walking alone in the steppe: train driver stopped the train for a child
Tengrinews.kz – A four-year-old child was found alone in the steppe near railway tracks in Zhetysu. A freight train driver noticed him while the train was moving, stopped the train and took the child into the cabin. The incident was caught on video, citing the press service of KTZ.
Child was walking toward the station
The incident occurred on September 20 at around 12:30 p.m. on the Saryozek – Ushtobe railway section, on the Tauarasy – Ainabulak stretch.
The freight train driver noticed a four-year-old child near the railway track, walking alone through the steppe toward Ainabulak station.
The train was moving at about 38 kilometers per hour. The driver applied service braking, stopped the train and took the child into the locomotive cabin.
He reported the incident to the train dispatcher. After the stop, the child was handed over to the duty officer at Ainabulak station. The employee contacted the boy’s parents.
