Forecasters warn residents of Astana, Almaty and six other cities
Tengrinews.kz — Kazhydromet has announced which cities are expected to experience unfavorable weather conditions on Wednesday, November 4.
Forecasters published the information on the agency’s website.
“On November 4, weather conditions conducive to the accumulation of pollutants in the atmosphere are expected in Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Almaty, Astana and Aktobe, as well as in Atyrau at night,” the statement said.
Unfavorable meteorological conditions are a combination of weather factors such as calm conditions, light winds, fog and temperature inversions that prevent harmful pollutants from dispersing and contribute to their accumulation near ground level.

Several hours earlier, Kazhydromet issued storm warnings for Almaty and all regions for Wednesday. Fog, frost, strong winds and icy conditions were forecast in various areas. High and extreme fire risk also remains in effect in several regions.
