Moelgg ends eight-year win drought at FIS World Cup
Italy's Manfred Moelgg clinched his first World Cup win in eight years when he triumphed in the slalom at Zagreb on Thursday.
It was a third career success for the 34-year-old but first since he won at Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany in 2009.
Moelgg raced to a 0.72sec victory over Germany's Felix Neureuther with Norway's Henrik Kristoffersen in third place at 0.77sec off the lead.
At 34 years and 216 days old, Moelgg is the second-oldest man to win a World Cup slalom race after Mario Matt, who was 34 days older when he took victory at Val d'Isere in December 2013.
Three-time Zagreb winner and overall World Cup leader Marcel Hirscher of Austria was sixth on Thursday, 1.43sec behind.
