Storm warning issued across Kazakhstan

Tengrinews.kz — Most of the country will be hit by extreme heat on July 10. Forecasters are warning of a high fire risk, according to Kazhydromet.

Astana — daytime temperatures are expected to reach a sweltering 35-36 degrees Celsius.

Almaty — intense heat of 35 degrees Celsius is expected during the day.

Shymkent — north-easterly winds will gust at 15-20 meters per second during the day. Intense heat of 40 degrees Celsius is expected, along with a high fire hazard.

Zhetysu Region — north-easterly winds in the east and north of the region will reach gusts of 15-20 m/s, occasionally increasing to 23-28 m/s during the day. Daytime temperatures will soar to 35-37 degrees Celsius. An extreme fire hazard remains in effect for the north, east, and south of the region.

Karaganda Region — north-easterly winds are expected in the south of the region with gusts up to 15 meters per second. Intense heat of 36 degrees Celsius is forecast for the west and south, while an extreme fire hazard persists in the north and west.

Ulytau Region — daytime temperatures are expected to hit 35-38 degrees Celsius. In Zhezkazgan, intense heat of 36-38 degrees Celsius is forecast during the day.

Mangystau Region — rain, thunderstorms, and daytime hail are expected in the west, north, and center of the region. Fog is forecast for the southwest during the night and morning. North and north-westerly winds will gust at 15-20 meters per second in the north and center. In Aktau, rain and thunderstorms are expected tonight and tomorrow morning.

Aktobe Region — rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are forecast for the west, north, and center of the region, with heavy rain at times in the west overnight. North and north-easterly winds will gust at 15-20 m/s in these areas. Daytime heat will reach 35-38 degrees Celsius. A high fire hazard is expected in the south and east. In Aktobe, intermittent rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected, with north/north-easterly wind gusts of 15-18 m/s.

Turkestan Region — a dust storm is expected in the west and north of the region during the day. North-easterly winds will reach 15-20 m/s in the west, north, and mountain/foothill areas. Extreme heat of 40-42 degrees Celsius is forecast. A high fire hazard remains across the region, with an extreme fire hazard persisting in the west, north, and center. In Turkestan , north-easterly winds will gust to 15-20 m/s during the day, with temperatures reaching 40-42 degrees Celsius and a high fire hazard remaining in place.

West Kazakhstan Region — rain and thunderstorms are expected in the north, east, and south, with heavy rain, hail, and squalls at times in the north and east overnight. North and north-easterly winds will gust at 15-20 m/s in the west, north, and east during the day. Temperatures will reach 35-38 degrees Celsius. A high fire hazard remains in the southwest. In Uralsk, daytime rain, thunderstorms, hail, and squalls are expected, with wind gusts of 15-20 m/s and temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius.

Pavlodar Region — daytime temperatures are expected to reach 35-36 degrees Celsius. A high fire hazard is forecast for the west, while an extreme fire hazard remains in the southeast.
