NSC reported numerous attempts to export money from Kazakhstan

One of the incidents occurred at the Kordai road border checkpoint in Zhambyl Region. During border control, officers found $70,000, or about 32.5 million tenge, on a foreign national. According to the NSC, the money had been concealed under the person’s clothing.

The NSC Border Service reminded travellers that taking cash out of Kazakhstan above the legally established limit — more than $10,000 — is prohibited unless declaration requirements are complied with.
