Laos President visits Kazakhstan for first time: what he discussed with Tokayev
Tengrinews.kz — The presidents of Kazakhstan and Laos held restricted-format talks in Astana, according to Akorda.
Welcoming the distinguished guest, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called the Lao leader’s first visit to Kazakhstan a historic event.
“Next year will mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. This is an important milestone. Relations between our states are friendly. We cooperate closely on the international stage, primarily within the United Nations. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude for Laos’ support of our initiatives within CICA. Mr. President, this is your first visit to our country. I am confident that following the visit, our governments will begin actively implementing the agreements reached,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed.

According to the President of Kazakhstan, Laos is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Asia.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the Lao economy has demonstrated steady growth in recent years, with significant progress achieved in energy, agriculture, industry and tourism.

Thongloun Sisoulith thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the invitation to visit friendly Kazakhstan.
“During this visit, I have been able to see with my own eyes how comprehensively Kazakhstan is developing and the large-scale transformations being carried out under your leadership. It is a great honor for me to make this official visit to Kazakhstan as President and to meet with you today. I sincerely believe that my visit will make a significant contribution to strengthening bilateral relations. I am confident that during our talks we will be able to discuss a wide range of issues and identify promising areas for cooperation and further joint work,” the President of Laos said.
