One donor - three lives: doctors line up in a corridor of honor in Astana
Tengrinews.kz — The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has published a moving video showing medical staff escorting a donor to the operating room. Doctors formed a "guard of honor", silently paying tribute to the donor and their family for a decision that saved the lives of others.
According to the Ministry of Health, a single donor in Astana gave three patients a chance at life overnight. During the procedure, the heart, lungs, and liver were harvested. The organs are destined for transplantation into patients currently on the waiting list.
The Ministry noted that every such case is the result of work by a large team of specialists, including intensive care physicians, transplant surgeons, donor coordinators, air ambulance staff, and other medical services.
"But above all, it is the family's decision during their most difficult moment. The Ministry of Health expresses its sincere gratitude to the donor's relatives for their courage and humanity," the statement said.
