Couple expands Heights 'pumpkin' home to accommodate triplets
The two-story home had an orange-brown exterior, and the odd arrangement of front windows - two upstairs, six lined up downstairs - vaguely resembled eyes and a row of teeth. [...] the couple had a big chocolate Labrador who needed space and a big yard. The Reeds changed the jack-o'-lantern look of the front windows, removed walls to open up the kitchen, closed in the side porch and added a deck to the back of the house. Some of the home's details are pure glamour - the custom mohair headboard in the master bedroom, for instance, and the dramatic glass chandeliers above the dining table. The family room furniture is upholstered with sturdy indoor/outdoor fabrics; the breakfast table is stainless steel; the coffee table's a durable rustic wood. The kitchen counter and adjacent living room have become a roomy gathering place for the family, she says: "That's definitely the space we live in." [...] the windows that surround the bed on three sides make it a bright, cozy space among the treetops.
