Armenian-French political consultations were held in Yerevan
ArmInfo.On April 17, political consultations were held in Yerevan between the foreign
ministries of Armenia and France. The consultations were chair by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan and head of the Continental Europe Department of the
French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, French Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group Brice Roquefeuil.. The press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of
mutual interest. The importance of further deepening the high-level
political dialogue between Armenia and France was emphasized. The
possibilities and prospects for the full implementation of existing
potential in the field of defense, economics, culture, infrastructure
development, and strengthening institutional capacity were discussed.
During the consultations, the interlocutors touched upon existing
cooperation in international organizations and other multilateral
platforms, as well as issues related to the RA-EU partnership agenda.
In connection with the rights and needs of forcibly displaced
Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, the support provided by the Republic
of Armenia in this regard, as well as other issues of a humanitarian
nature, were also reviewed.
The interlocutors exchanged views on current regional and
international issues. The process of settling relations between
Armenia and Azerbaijan was touched upon. Paruyr Hovhannisyan
introduced the interlocutor to the latest developments in the region,
emphasizing the RA position on key issues. The French partners were
also presented with the "Crossroads of Peace" project developed by
the Government of the Republic of Armenia.
