Serzh Sargsyan: I`ve always been surprised by people who try to counter elections with impeachment
ArmInfo. There has been no response yet to the Republican Party of Armenia's call for the opposition to unite around the impeachment of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as stated by Serzh Sargsyan, the third president of the RA and leader of the RPA, when speaking to reporters on March 5.
"I've always been surprised by people who try to counter elections with impeachment. I've said it ten times, and I'll repeat it for the eleventh time: if there is no no impeachment, there will be elections, which will be regular elections and can only be postponed as a last resort," the third president said. He added that the RPA's statement was about unity and emphasized that impeachment is a mechanism for resolving the crisis. "Let's give it a try. Those who say it won't work, that there's no point in trying now, etc., are starting to sound like Armenia's current leaders. The former, by their behavior, are actually enabling the latter, who are guided in their policies by the principle 'We are weak, and therefore, let Azerbaijan do whatever it wants.' In any case, those who don't want to follow our call, that's their own business. We will try to implement this within the limits of our strength and capabilities," Serzh Sargsyan said.
When asked if the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) would participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, the third president of Armenia noted that this would depend on the effectiveness of the struggle against the current leaders.
