RA Central Electoral Commission: Only three political forces submitted documents for June parliamentary elections
ArmInfo. As of today, only three political forces have submitted their nomination documents for the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7: the ruling Civil Contract Party, the Prosperous Armenia Party, and the Meritocratic Party of Armenia, as stated by Seda Ghukasyan, spokesperson for the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), in an interview with reporters.
Ghukasyan clarified that while 23 political parties and blocs had previously applied for digital user accounts, this does not guarantee their participation. "Having an account is not the same as being nominated. The deadline to open an account and submit all necessary documentation for the nomination is April 23 at 6:00 PM," she stated.
The CEC will review all submitted applications between April 23 and May 3, after which the official list of registered participants will be finalized. "During this window, we will audit the documents provided by both parties and blocs. If inaccuracies are found, the CEC has the authority to notify the political force, granting them 48 hours to provide the missing or corrected documentation before final registration," Ghukasyan clarified.
The spokesperson also mentioned the public of the legal thresholds required to enter the National Assembly: Political Parties: 4% Blocs (up to 3 parties): 8% Blocs (4 or more parties): 10%
Following this CEC statement, two forces-the "Strong Armenia" bloc (led by Samvel Karapetyan) and the "Against All" party-submitted their registration documents to the Commission.
