RA premier attends consecration ceremony of Holy Trinity Church in Kirants.
ArmInfo. On May 2, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan attended the consecration ceremony of the Holy Trinity Church in Kirants in the Tavush Province of the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the RA government press service.
According to the source, the church in the village of Kirants, built in the fourth quarter of the 19th century, was restored by government decision and with funds allocated from the state budget. During the Soviet era, it was used as a warehouse, falling into disrepair and without a roof. In 2024, restoration work was carried out at a cost of 21.4 million drams. Specifically, deficiencies resulting from previously completed work were corrected, such as the opening and closing of window openings, improper sealing of the building, etc.
Work was largely completed on restoring missing sections of the structure in front of the cornices, constructing the external retaining wall and floors, plastering the interior, and completing the ceiling, woodwork, and flooring.
In 2025, restoration work costing 32.259 million drams was completed, and in early 2026, the church's restoration was completed. Work included the construction of complex stone frames, cornerstones, a new row of cornices, the roof, a new six-column rotunda, painting, and interior finishing.
