How I became a Rays fan even though I'm from the UK

I'm from the land of cricket, not baseball, yet the Rays have become by #2 sports team (royalsmudge is homage to my #1 team the soccer team in the UK, not the 2015 World Series champs; we have the biggest playoff game there is on Monday, anyway...).
On first trip to Florida in 2014, I worked while family slept and watched the Rays every night, not really supporting them, but wondering how Grant Balfour kept losing games. David Price was the superstar, Will Myers the great young hope but they struggled all holiday. After 2 weeks I was hooked by these consistently losing team and continued to follow them back in UK.

3 seasons of losing baseball has followed, after seemingly 5-6 years of unparalleled success for the plucky MLB newcomers, so you could say I'm a bit of a jonah.

Each morning (evenings for an afternoon game), I follow the tweets in chronological order to see how the game went, before reading the reports, listening to the podcasts.

I've been once, 2 years ago, Rays 2 - 0 Braves (I write as we would in England) KK 2 run homer in quickest game ever at Tropicana Field (I believe). I loved it, boys loved it, wife less so.

We'll return one day, maybe next playoff run, who knows maybe this year, we're doing as well as we ever have (since I've been a fan)...
