Ashotyan: Armenia has been and remains committed to its obligations under the European Partnership
ArmInfo. The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Armen Ashotyan received Joris Poschet, the member of the Belgian Senate. Welcoming the guest in the National Assembly, Armen Ashotyan expressed hope that the traditional
friendly relations existing between the newly formed National Assembly and the Belgian Parliament will continue in the spirit of cooperation in the context of active contacts between the existing partner committees in the parliaments of the two countries and between the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups.
According to Armenian Parliament's press service, in the course of
the meeting the sides touched upon the RA-EU relations, the
importance and role of signing of RA-EU new Comprehensive Agreement
designed in Brussels Summit. In this context Armen Ashotyan noted
that Armenia had been and remains faithful to its commitments based
on the European Partnership and will continue actively participating
in the initiatives aimed at boosting the European democracy.
Referring to the peaceful settlement process of Nagorno Karabakh
conflict, Armen Ashotyan has stated that the gross violations of
ceasefire being regularly implemented by the Azerbaijani armed forces
on the frontline in any way damage the negotiating process and the
atmosphere of trust in the region, which is fraught with
unpredictable consequences. In the context of Nagorno Karabakh
conflict settlement Armen Ashotyan has noted that Artsakh is a part
of Europe, a state that realized the European democratic values, and
its people have earned the right of possessing its own destiny.
