Trubnikov: There is no military solution to the Karabakh conflict - this was proved by the incident of July 4
ArmInfo. There is no military solution to the Karabakh conflict - this evidence was proved by the incident of July 4, which killed civilians. This was stated by former
OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair Vyacheslav Trubnikov to haqqin.az. "Here
you can see what the pause in the negotiation process leads to.
To avoid the death of civilians on both sides, it is necessary to
continue negotiations, and the OSCE Minsk Group to intensify its work
in this direction," Tubnikov said. At the same time, he added that at
the next meetings with his Armenian counterparts he would directly
tell them that the solution to the conflict should have only one
formula: "there were neither winners nor losers here and there can
not be any."
"And for our part - Russia, the United States and France, as
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, should spur the parties to peace
talks, which have no alternative," concluded the ex-mediator.
To note, on July 4, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces continuously shelled
Karabakh positions from 60 and 82 mm mortars throughout the day, in
addition, they used Turkish missile systems TR-107. The Armed Forces
of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic took counter-action, as a result of
which two Azerbaijani civilians were killed, another one was injured.
This is due to the fact that the enemy's firing point was located in
the immediate vicinity of the settlement. The OSCE Minsk Group
co-chairs issued a statement urging the sides to stop fighting and
return to the negotiating table.
