Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting of the National Security Council
ArmInfo.On September 27, President of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the National Security Council Serzh Sargsyan held a meeting of the National Security Council.
According to the press service of the Armenian leader, by the agenda of the meeting, discussed issues related to reforms of the institutional system in the field of fighting corruption and activities to improve the effectiveness of the public service system, as well as on the Information Policy and Information Security Concept.
Vice Prime Minister, Minister of International Economic Integration and Reforms of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan and Justice Minister David Harutyunyan reported the first question to the members of the National Security Council. The participants of the meeting presented the measures implemented so far in the anti-corruption sphere, including a package of draft laws developed as a result of the work of the working group established in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of December 20, 2016 "On the establishment of a working group to ensure reforms of the institutional system in the sphere of fight against corruption. " In addition, the work carried out in the framework of international cooperation was presented, as well as the directions of the new anti-corruption strategy. The Council took note of the reports submitted. The second issue on the agenda was reported by the Director of the National Security Service under the Government of the Republic of Armenia, Georgy Kutoyan and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan. They stressed that the Concept of Information Policy and Information Security of the Republic of Armenia, according to the submitted draft, is an important component of state policy. The current weighty impact of information technology on the natural and efficient functioning of all spheres of management further increases the need for modernization and development of conceptual and regulatory documents for ensuring information security.
The director of the National Security Service noted that the project was prepared by an interdepartmental working group, based on the need to apply and develop new criteria and strategic directions for ensuring information security, consonant with the current urgent challenges and processes in the world. The draft concept presents the situation in the sphere of ensuring the information security of the Republic of Armenia, fundamental values, principles, interests, threats and challenges, policy goals, problems, issues of international cooperation, etc. In the context of these issues, the main directions and priorities of the unified information policy are summarized.
The National Security Council, in view of the proposals that were voiced as a result of the discussion, approved the draft concept.
