Norway refused to sell arms to Azerbaijan
ArmInfo.. Norway rejected the application of Azerbaijan for the purchase of defense equipment. This is read in the parliamentary report on arms exports of 2016, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway published.
The government explained the decision on the refusal by saying that
Norway is against the sale of weapons and ammunition to regions where
there is a war between states or a danger of civil war.
This decision aroused dissatisfaction with the Israeli organization
Med Israel for Fred (MIFF), which accused the Norwegian government of
applying the practice of double standards and demanded a review of
this principle, and the authorization of arms transfers to Israel.
The Armenian side has repeatedly advocated a ban on the sale of
weapons to countries involved in conflicts.
