Forecast: Weeding out political rubbish by Armenian society will be the most important process in the coming years
ArmInfo. In general, the situation in Armenia is developing for the better, but not at the pace that we all would like to see, lawmaker of the Armenian
parliament from the "My Step" bloc Tigran Ulikhanyan expressed such
an opinion to ArmInfo.
"As a member of parliament, I can point out our obvious shortcomings.
At the same time, I am aware of the impossibility of managing the
state machine without flaws. There is always a risk of making a wrong
decision. The role of the opposition is important in bringing such
erroneous decisions to the parliament or some other public platforms
for discussion. We, in turn, can accept them or not, but in any case
we must bear political responsibility for them, "he stressed.
Commenting on the regional activity of the leader of the PAP Gagik
Tsarukyan and his statements that "the current government has a very
short time left", Ulikhanyan urged the citizens of Armenia to be more
attentive to such statements. Moreover, over time, assess the
political value of such statements and weed out "political talkers",
primarily in their own interests. At least in order to stop seeing
and listening to speeches that are not worth a dime.
Thus, according to the parliamentarian, the solution lies in giving
appropriate assessment by the people to certain politicians on the
basis of familiarity with them and their programs. All this, in
Ulikhanyan's opinion, will allow the society to independently filter
the available political resource, filtering out political rubbish. It
is this screening, according to his forecasts, that will become the
most important step in the coming years, since it will lead to a
healthier political field. <In the political science sense, there
are opposition forces, i.e. forces that are not part of the power.
Even before the revolution, the Civil Contract party voiced the need
for the establishment of institutional opposition as a key agenda.
This agenda exists today, however, for obvious reasons, our party can
no longer implement it. Other political parties and forces should
solve this problem. Both parliamentary and extra-parliamentary ones,
"he stressed.
According to Ulikhanyan's estimates, today everyone can see perfectly
well that where there should be institutional opposition, there is
only an open field. And this is not good for a 30-year-old statehood.
However, this field is free for everyone who is ready for political
self-expression. The only condition is that you need to express
yourself as part of a political party, not a gang.
