Independent MP criticized Parliamentary majority for election of new judges of Constitutional Court
ArmInfo. The people who were elected today as judges of the Constitutional Court by the Parliamentary majority are no different from the former judges of the
Constitutional Court. Independent MP Arman Babajanyan stated this
from the rostrum of the parliament.
"The people who carried out the will of the former authorities were
replaced by a bribe-taker - a university lecture, scientist and
judge, who is a protege of the former authorities, as well as a very
weak lawyer," the MP noted.
Babajanyan noted that these judges were elected by the parliamentary
majority, which two years ago in the square promised people to carry
out radical reforms in the judicial system of Armenia.
<In fact, you have achieved nothing. The CCremained the same as it
was, but with new members. This was a deliberate choice of authority.
They betrayed their promises and the people of Armenia. But for my
part, I want to assure that together with you I will continue the
struggle for the implementation of fundamental reforms in the
judicial system of Armenia. Corrupt judges and puppet courts should
not have a place in our country. Reforms in this system are much more
important than the political preferences of one or another political
force," the MP concluded. To note, today the Parliament elected
three new judges of the Constitutional Court. They are Yervand
Khundkaryan, Artur Vagharshyan and Edgar Shatiryan.
