Armenian PM, French parliamentarians discuss processes in South Caucasus
ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Anne-Laurence Petel, the Chairwoman of the France-Armenia Friendship Group of the National Assembly of France.
According to the Prime Minister's press service, Pashinyan welcomed the visit of members of the interparliamentary friendship group to Armenia and thanked them for their commitment to agendas related to Armenia. The Prime Minister emphasized the strong ties that have developed between the parliaments of Armenia and France, and emphasized intensive bilateral cooperation at a high level.
Anne-Laurence Petel, in turn, noted that the Friendship Group includes representatives of all factions of the National Assembly who have an unconditional political consensus in support of Armenia.
The interlocutors touched upon issues related to multi-sectoral cooperation between Armenia and France, inter-parliamentary interaction, the activities of French companies in our country, participation in investment programs, implementation of projects in infrastructure, agriculture, energy and other areas.
The processes taking place in the South Caucasus were discussed. Pashinyan touched upon the discussions on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized that the principles of the treaty were fundamentally agreed upon in a statement made within the framework of a quadripartite meeting held in Prague on October 6, 2022. The possibilities of opening regional infrastructures were also discussed. In this context, Nikol Pashinyan presented the RA government's "Crossroads of Peace" project and its principles.
An exchange of views on the activities of the EU civil mission in Armenia and the further development of Armenia-EU cooperation took place.
The humanitarian problems of people forcibly resettled from Nagorno-Karabakh, the steps and plans of the RA government to solve them were also touched upon. In terms of addressing the needs of forcibly displaced people, Pashinyan also emphasized the importance of consistent support from the international community.
