IC arrests two protesters in Yerevan who were carrying folding knives
ArmInfo. The Investigative Committee of Armenia detained two participants in the protest carried out by
the Tavush for the Motherland initiative and its supporters in Yerevan, who were carrying folding knives.
In particular, according to the investigation, during the march on
May 10 at about 12:00 two participants in the action were taken to
the police. During a personal search of the latter, an object similar
to a bladed weapon was discovered, one folding knife each.
It turned out that the latter are 42-year-old and 47-year-old
residents of Yerevan, the first of whom was convicted three times in
the past for theft of property (two of them with robbery), and the
second for intentionally causing grievous harm to the health of
another person.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article "illegal
possession of weapons." The protesters were detained. The two people
mentioned were detained on the basis of reasonable suspicion of
committing a crime. The circumstances are established by a
preliminary investigation.
