The oppositionist gives up in front of electoral bribes of authorities
ArmInfo. Levon Zurabyan, the Armenian National Congress faction head, expressed his concerns regarding the fact that more than half of voters of upcoming parliamentary elections could receive bribes and to vote for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). This was stated by him on February 24 at the press conference in Yerevan.
Zurabyan thinks that the consensus reached between the authorities and the opposition regarding the additional tools of electoral process control and the online broadcasting of the whole electoral process essentially decreases the probability of falsifications, and in this respect the ruling party has no option other than to launch electoral bribery. According to him, he has also heard the whispers saying that Mihran Pogosyan, the Ex Court Decisions Enforcement Entity head in implementing bribery - per USD 100 for each voter. In his opinion, the opposition should launch a large work to prove the negative consequences of electoral bribery. Otherwise, the opposition will face a fiasco, the politician states.
The politician could not make a forecast what the results of April elections will be3. Moreover, according to him, under the conditions of large scaled electoral corruption, the situation becomes so unpredictable that no any political power, including the ruling party of RPA, could not be sure of its victory. In this context Zurabyan did not rule out that Armenian National Congress and the People party of Armenia will be found unable to bass the 7% threshold.
