USA Embassy in Armenia responded to recordings made at SAS group meeting
ArmInfo.USA Embassy in Armenia responded to the recording made at SAS Group meeting, during which the workers were forced to vote for the ruling Republican Party and the Head of the company Artak Sargsyan.
"Following the recent parliamentary election, the U.S. and other
international organizations issued a statement noting that the
electoral process was tainted by credible information about
vote-buying and pressure on voters. In that statement, we urged the
Armenian government, political parties, and civil society to work
together to address these concerns through legal mechanisms, and we
thus welcome the announcement today by the Prosecutor General that he
is investigating the troubling report just published by Hayastan24. A
credible and transparent investigation of this kind would be in line
with the Prime Minister's February 9 warning against the use of
administrative resources. We trust that the government will ensure
there is no retaliatory action against any individual or organization
that comes forward with credible information for investigation", USA
Embassy statement reads.
To note, on April 13 a record from SAS Group meeting was spread in
Internet, where unknown person forced the workers to present voters
list, who will vote in Arabkir for the head of the company Artak
Sargsyan. At that, the unknown person also humiliated and mocked the
workers, who rejected to work for Sargsyan. Moreover, he threatened
them to fire, and the workers who would manage to get maximal number
of votes, he promised to send for a holiday to Paris. Despite all the
records do not show the name of the Dictator, but according to
ArmInfo's proved information, it was Artak Sargsyan's brother, co
owner of the company Aram Sargsyan.
