Toghanyan: If Baku comes with an initiative to enter EEU, Yerevan will have its special position
ArmInfo. If Azerbaijan comes with an initiative to enter EEU, Armenia will have its own position, of course- Vardan Toghanyan, Armenian Ambassador to Russia expressed this opinion during his interview with Interfax, answering the
question how Armenia would react to Azerbaijan's joining EEU.
"Particularly, it depends on what concrete initiative Azerbaijan will
come out with: whether it would be willing to become an observer, or
a full member. Correspondently, we will form our position, and we
will have the position in this case", Armenian diplomat noted.
At the same time, he stated pretty active interest is observed to EEU
both in post Soviet territory, and in many other our partner
countries. " Vietnam has already got a special position, the talks
are being done with Iran on creating free zone of trade, we cooperate
with Israel and Turkey. There is a prescribed procedure for EEU
entrance which is written in statutory documents. The decision will
be made by EEU members, today there are 5 members".
