Anurag Kashyap defends Animal as daughter Aaliyah Kashyap calls Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film 'horrible'
Post the release of Animal and criticism, Anurag Kashyap had come out in defense of Sandeep Reddy Vanga. In a recent podcast with daughter Aaliyah, Anurag Kashyap once again spoke about the impact of Animal.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, Bobby Deol and many others was a box office hit. However, there was a big discussion around it too as a lot of people termed the movie as misogynist. The violence and dialogues received wide criticism. But quite a few from industry also showed support to Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Anurag Kashyap was one of them. The Gangs of Wasseypur maker had defended Animal and director Sandeep post the release of the film. He later he even shared a picture with Sandeep Reddy Vanga revealing about his meeting with him. Once again, Anurag has defended the Sandeep.

Anurag Kashyap appeared on daughter Aaliyah Kashyap's podcast called 'Young, Dumb and Anxious'. During the conversation, Aaliyah asked him about his meeting and post for Sandeep Reddy Vanga. His daughter expressed disappointment over his post as she recalled having a conversation with him over Animal in which she had termed the film to be 'horrible' and 'misogynist'. To this, Anurag reacted saying that he met Sandeep Reddy Vanga and liked him. He said that he had his own questions and wanted to meet Sandeep to get the answers. He recalled having a 5 hour long convresation with Sandeep Reddy Vanga and also added that "I always believe in talking to people. I was cancelled after Dev D (2009) by a lot of people for making a 'misogynistic' film... I have often seen people isolating someone, attacking someone and that is not the way to be."
Further, Anurag Kashyap spoke about the impact of Animal. He added that post Animal, all the action films now appear fake. He also believes that Sandeep's Animal will bring a tectonic shift in how the films will be made in the upcoming years. Animal will have a impact on cinema forever, he said.
