The government on Friday said foreign exchange dealers and sellers of overseas tour packages will have to take an "undertaking" from their customers about their past remittances and overseas visits made in a fiscal for the purpose of deducting TCS. The income tax department on Friday said it will "duly consider" cases where linking of PAN with Aadhaar is yet to happen despite individuals giving their consent and having paid the fee. The last day for linking PAN with biometric Aadhaar on paying a late fee of Rs 1,000 is June 30, 2023. Cyber security watchdog CERTin has barred the use of remote desktop softwares like Anydesk and Teamviewer in the government department under new security guidelines released on Friday. Retail inflation for industrial workers eased to 4.42 per cent in May from 5.09 per cent in April, mainly due to lower prices of certain food items. "Year-on-year inflation for the month stood at 4.42 per cent compared to 5.09 per cent for the previous month and 6.97 per cent during the corresponding month a year before," a labour ministry statement said on Friday. Andhra Pradesh suffered 37 per cent deficit rainfall in June, logging just 59.2 mm rainfall on average across the state against the normal range of 94.1 mm, the Met department said on Friday. Except four districts, Konaseema, Krishna, Chittoor and Sri Satya Sai, all the other districts registered deficit rainfall. Area under paddy is down 26 per cent to 26.55 lakh hectare so far in the ongoing kharif (summer-sown) season amid slow progress of the southwest monsoon.
