24 stylish pairs of clogs to wear with everything this spring

Perfect for walks in the park, bodega runs, gardening, and outdoor chores, these rubber clogs from SeaVees are a must. They're unbelievably comfy with great support and cushion, plus the rubber exterior makes them easy to rinse off and keep clean. Dansko's are the clog-iest of all clogs. Often worn by nurses or chefs who need to spend all day on their feet, they are perhaps the ultimate shoe when it comes to comfort. Not only does the inside cradle your feet, but the outside has a thick lug sole that is so shock-absorbent that you really feel the difference when it comes to avoiding foot fatigue. The outsole is even brilliantly bow-shaped, creating a "rocker-bottom" that's designed to make walking less tiring. 

If your main concern is comfort, this should be your pick all day long. And even though Dansko's get a little bit of a bad rep when it comes to style, style editor Samantha Crozier (who is much more of an elegant heel type of person) swears that you can make these cute. "I wear these with a little ruffle sock and thank my lucky stars that I get to wear shoes this comfortable all day. Crocs are a contentious topic in the style space, but once you've tried a pair yourself, you'll see why they break barriers in fashion. Besides being ridiculously comfortable, they're bound to change what you perceive as "ugly shoes." The main point is their practicality, and the brand has a professional collection for those who wear them as sensible footwear to work. But there's also tons of designer collabs and trendy silhouettes if you're feeling adventurous.

Lifestyle fellow and fashion writer Priya Raj saw them donned in all sorts of ways during her visit to London Fashion Week, inspiring her to wear them as an expression of personal style.

"I also look forward to wearing my Crocs next time I travel; they feel like the perfect long-haul travel shoe, and I'm certain a pair of charm-embellished Crocs will amp up my next airport look," says Raj.

Hunter's Play Clog came recommended to me by my librarian friend, who wears them nearly everyday to stand for hours. They're also a practical pair to pack when traveling to rainy climates, since they won't take up as much space in your luggage as Hunter's Wellingtons. They're crafted with sturdy 100% natural rubber and lined with recycled polyester, but you can also add a shearling lining for extra warmth.

Too many chefs in the kitchen can lead to accidents. During my own waitressing days, the most common reason for spills were the slick floors. Proper footwear is first and foremost a safety precaution for restaurant workers, and a pair of clogs like Calzuro's will keep your feet steadfast and comfortable. Their soles have impressive traction that can hold their own on wet surfaces, and inside are massaging bumps on the inside to promote blood circulation. They have a slight heel to alleviate pressure, as well as holes for ventilation.

Regular spills are part of the job in restaurant life, so cloth sneakers are liable to become caked in all kinds of mess. Instead, these rubber clogs are machine washable and safe to clean with bleach. You can further customize your fit with add-ons, like comfort insoles or a heel strap kit.

OOFOS' Oocloogs are the perfect shoes for those who work in fields that require lots of walking. They're equipped with the brand's signature OOFoam, which reduces impact on the pressure points of your feet to alleviate added stress on your knee joints. The Oocloogs are even machine washable, so they're easy to keep fresh in case work gets messy.

The Rothy's Casual Clog might be one of our executive editor's most-worn pairs of shoes. She swears by these for errands, lounging around the house, coffee runs, and more. They have a thick, rubberized sole for outdoor wear, but they also have a soft Merino blend upper that makes them feel just like cozy slippers. The insole has excellent arch support so they're especially good for times when you're on your feet a lot at home, like cooking dinner or doing chores.

Rothy's makes these in two materials, one with Merino wool and one with hemp. Both are knitted along with the brand's signature thread made from recycled water bottles, so these are definitely a more sustainable option than the leather pairs on this list. 

There is no footwear problem these Boston clogs can't solve, at least as far as comfort and ease are concerned. We've been wearing this style since our middle school days — just not with tie-dye T-shirts anymore. They're reliably comfortable, they mold to your feet over time, and they come in a ton of colors and finishes, from suede to oiled leather to fuzzy shearling. 

One thing to note about the Boston clog is that the regular width has a particularly wide toe box, so if you have narrow feet you'll want to make sure you opt for a pair that comes in narrow sizing. For those with regular-width feet, this extra room makes it more comfortable to wear socks (which we recommend with this style). If you rather not trudge around in rain boots, the Caribou clogs have a duck boot-like silhouette that's easier to slide in and out of. These Sorel slip-ons surprisingly lightweight and have high-traction tread to prevent slipping on grass, sidewalks, or floors. Since they're waterproof, you can wear them as gardening clogs and rinse them off at the door to avoid tracking dirt indoors.

Camper's vulcanized leather clogs can keep up with whatever the weekend throws at you.  They've got a rigid exterior, but inside are cushioned with Ortholite insoles. Their toothed lug soles can handle all sorts of terrain, and they'll accent wide-leg jeans with a pop of color peeking out from the ridged toe cap. If you're running errands, you can sling its straps around your heels for a secure fit, or flip them over the top so they're easy to slip in and out of. They come in half sizes, but it's best to round up if you want to wear them with socks.

The new Encore Ices from from Merrell are the fifth upgrade in the series. They have a layer of "FloatPro Foam" throughout the midsoles, topped with a fluffy layer of faux fur you can wear without socks (as some do with UGGs). This faux fur footbed is removable, so you can also swap in mesh insoles for summer.

The waterproof moccasin-style clogs are easy to stand in all day since their slight heel is padded with lightweight cushioning. If you have wide or flat feet, the extra wide size has a roomy toe box and can be outfitted with Merrell's Kinetic Fit Advanced Footbed.

M.Gemi's Greta clog combines '70s style with Italian craftsmanship. It's a little over two inches high, which is fantastic if you're looking for a little bit of height. Even though it's a slip-on style, you won't have to worry about these being floppy of slipping off — the vamp is long and comfortable enough that it grips your foot. The clog also has a rubber outsole so that you won't hear the clomp-clomp of wooden clogs when you walk. These '70s-inspired clogs from Boden are an extension of the brand's popular line of Iris Snaffle loafers and mules. Every style features a distinctive and oversized snaffle bit (aka the bold and brassy buckle detail on top) adding a dash of sophistication to an otherwise classic wooden clog design. 

One thing we really liked about this pair is that the V-cuts on the side made them more flexible when walking. Wooden clogs are notoriously stiff, but even more so when the leather upper has no give — which is not the case with this pair. We wouldn't say they're a good fit for wide feet, but you don't need extremely narrow feet for these to be comfortable. 

The Iris Snaffle style is available in multiple colors, including brown suede, black leather, and leopard print calf hair, and comes in European whole sizes. Nisolo designs their All Day Heeled Mule with extra cushioning, so your feet won't feel like you've been clomping around once you finally kick them off. The memory foam padding inside protects your soles, and the 2.5-inch stacked leather block heel has a grainy finish that likens them to typical wooden clogs.

I consider the No.6 clogs a way for Brooklyn moms to signal their  "quiet luxury" status to each other at the park. They have a simple silhouette, but the hand craftsmanship sets them apart from your average pair of wooden clogs. Made in the US, the 3-inch wooden heel is lacquered with a glossy finish and feels notably lightweight to walk in, though the shape is likely unsuitable for wide feet. The water-repellent leather upper starts off stiff, but softens with each wear. No. 6 has their own distinct sizing guide, so consult their chart before you decide which heel height works best for your arches.

Blend Madewell's timeless designs with our beloved Dansko's Professional Clogs, and what do you get? It's called the leather Brinn Mule. These have the same arch support we love from Dansko, topped off with a buckle strap that can be flipped over the top or slung back around your heels. Below is a walkable wooden platform, with a layer of EVA rubber on the outsole for better shock absorption. In addition to classic black leather, they also come in a Spotted Calf Hair colorway. 

Farm Rio's platform clogs are unmistakably retro inspired, and the subtle tropical flair makes them ideal for wearing with sundresses this summer. They have a sweet stitched heart pattern on the upper, available in cobalt, black, and off-white. Try accessorizing with some hoop earrings to match their glossy gold studs.

Besides making some of our favorite slippers for women ever, UGG's other slip-on styles like the New Heights suede clogs are a prime example of "cottagecore" spring fashion. On the inside is a microfiber sock liner, so you can dress them up with tube socks or wear them barefoot. They have a tapered toe and a grippy 2-inch platform heel. UGGs tend to run small, so we suggest rounding up if you're between sizes.

Melissa makes jelly shoes that are more comfortable than you remember them. They're constantly reimagining the '90s kid classic with designer collaborations with the likes of Jean Paul Gaultier, Telfar, and now, Marc Jacobs.

I was surprised at how easy these tall platforms were to walk in when I first put them on, and despite the disclaimer that they'd run large, the size 8 fit me perfectly true to size. The way they pitch up at the toe makes it so I don't have to worry about impacting my toes with each step.

A similar Melissa clog worth noting is the Zoe mule. If you're after an uncanny designer dupe, they look remarkably similar to Bottega Veneta's "ugly-chic" Rubber Flash Clogs — only the Zoe mules are over $600 less.

Simon Miller's designs always incorporate a novel use of color, and the brand's Bubble Clogs were an instant hit when they debuted in the early days of the pandemic. To this day, the vegan leather mules are some of the LA-based brand's best selling shoes, with a commanding shape that's impossible to overlook. They come in campy colorways and prints like metallic lame and faux shearling, as well as an amped-up platform version.

With all the sudden demand for cowboy boots for women, Alohas' leather pointed-toe mules are a refreshing take on the Western trend. The Lorenzos are adorned with responsibly produced glossy metal studs, and stand out with their unique Cuban heel. The bubble wrap detail on the platform sole of these round-toed Miista clogs give them a slick, streetwise edge. The Brietta Mules are of substantial height, so they'll pair perfectly with oversized cargo pants. They're designed in London and handmade in Portugal, and in my experience, European shoes tend to run slightly small. If you're between sizes, try rounding half a size up.

Pair a bubbly pair of clogs with some flare jeans, and you've got yourself the foundations of a trendy vintage-inspired outfit. Larroudé's Miso platform clogs have a nicely even pitch that adds height without making it difficult to walk, and inside is a layer of memory foam cushioning. They come in leather, colorful shearling patterns, and smooth velvet jewel tones.
