Your Search for the Perfect T-Shirt Is Over: The 17 Best Tees of 2025 Flatter Every Guy at Shockingly Low Prices
The humble T-shirt has slowly evolved over the decades from an undergarment never to be seen in public to one of the most pivotal and ubiquitous items in a man’s wardrobe, infinitely versatile and wearable in almost any configuration. (Yes, you can even strut into the office wearing a T-shirt, provided you have a blazer over it.) The best T-shirts are cozy, comfortable, and look great with everything. They can go from living room slouchy to dressed up for a night out. There’s really nothing that a tee can’t do. But in a sea of options, knowing the best T-shirts for men can boost your outfits from meh to man, this was meant for me.
In fact, it’s because a great T-shirt is such a fundamental wardrobe building block that choosing the right one is deceptively tricky. Every guy has had the experience of finding what looks to be a good enough plain tee only to discover that it’s too thin, oddly shaped, or too short (or too long) at the hem, which can be incredibly frustrating. You want your tees to be like a glass of water: simple and pure. It does what it’s supposed to do very well, and nothing else.
We’ve got you covered. These are our picks for the best T-shirts for men in 2025. Note: We’ve stuck to solid options and avoided busy graphic tees because we have to cut off the list somewhere, and graphic tees tend to be more personal. We selected Kotn Heavyweight Box Crew as the best overall T-shirt for men, given its elevated feel at a supremely grounded price point, but scroll on to find your own future go-to tee that you can’t live without.

What to Look for When Shopping for the Best T-Shirts for Men
Fit
A T-shirt generally means more skin (unless you're layering with a blazer or sweater, which is always a good look in cooler weather). More skin can mean more to be self-conscious about. Look for T-shirts that flatter your body as it is: Shorter guys should search for tees with shorter hems so they don't look like they're drowning in the shirt. Taller, lean guys want a longer cut (without being boxy).
Color
The color of a solid T-shirt really comes down to preference. (May we suggest checking our guide on how to know what colors look good on you?) If you're out in the scorching sun, lighter colors are the wiser bet. But also consider that white T-shirts stain more easily (including when it comes to dreaded armpit stains that become permanent over time). Black is classic, but so are neutral tones and navy. Nothing wrong with getting playful with pops of color, though.
Material
If you've ever bought a T-shirt from a fast fashion retailer (we're not naming names here) only to find it become a barely-there see-through garment after a few washes, you know how important the material of a tee is. Look for heavier, sturdy cotton or poly blends—don't worry, they'll get softer over time. While it's not a tailored garment, you want a T-shirt with structure, not a formless bag over your torso.
How We Selected These Shirts
For the best T-shirts, I looked at the overall fit, silhouette, quality of construction, and the thickness of the material. I considered price as well as premium feel, and tried to include both reasonably good bargain tees and high-end luxury shirts for those willing to shell out.
Why You Should Trust Me
I am a longtime menswear writer who has tried hundreds of T-shirts from dozens of brands over the years. I wear them to work out, as casual basics, and as part of put-together ensembles with a more formal feel, so I have a good sense of their versatility.
