1975 No. 1 Hit Song Re-Entered the Hot 100 for the Third Time 43 Years Later
Few songs ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100 more than once. Yet, one truly iconic track from 1975 managed to do so a third time.
On November 22, 1975, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" reached No. 1 on the U.K. singles chart, and it remained there for nine weeks. The track also reached No. 9 on the U.S. chart during the same era.
Amazingly enough, the song would return to the Billboard Hot 100 43 years later. That return in 2018 actually marked its third Hot 100 appearance, which is a rare feat for any song.

Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" has a timeless quality that has allowed it to appeal to people across generations since its release. Thanks to that, the song has managed to take the Billboard chart by storm three times, with each surge taking place many years apart from each other.
In 1992, the movie Wayne's World became a hit. As anyone who has seen the beloved comedy is likely to remember, it featured an extended sequence of several characters singing along to "Bohemian Rhapsody" while driving. That led to the song reaching No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart roughly half a year after Freddie Mercury died at 45 years old. That is the song's all-time peak on the U.S. chart, and it came approximately 17 years after it first came out.
More than 43 years after its first release and 25 years following the Wayne's World boost, “Bohemian Rhapsody” entered Billboard's Hot 100 yet again. That came after the release of the Freddie Mercury biopic, which shared the same name as the song, became a hit and reminded listeners of the legendary track. At that time, the song peaked at No. 33.
Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Reached No. 1 Again in 2025
In addition to the resurgences the song has made on the Billboard charts, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" also took the top spot in the U.K. recently. In November 2025, Forbes reported that the track had topped the Official Singles Sales and Official Physical Singles in the United Kingdom, more than 50 years after it was first released.
The reason for the song's latest surge in sales was that it was re-released on vinyl to celebrate its 50th anniversary. It truly does seem like the only thing it takes for "Bohemian Rhapsody" to explode in popularity again is for the masses to be given a reason to remember just how epic it remains.
