Showing no let-up in the ongoing investigations into the controversy over Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala using an AK 47 automatic weapon at the Badbar police firing range in Barnala district in presence of five policemen, Patiala inspector general of police directed the police chiefs of Sangrur and Barnala districts to depute superintendent of police (SP) rank officers to investigate the two cases that have been registered against the singer and five cops in both the districts.

A team of Patiala excise officials and district police on Thursday busted an illegal liquor manufacturing unit running in an abandoned cold store near Rajpura.

The police have booked five persons for allegedly spitting on a woman and then assaulting her while she had gone to dump cow dung. According to the cops, the incident took place in Kol village of Nabha around three days ago following which a case was registered after recording the statements of the woman and other injured persons.
