Firoz Ahmed, an architect, was found dead in Azamgarh district on Saturday morning. Villagers allege that he was beaten to death by local police outpost incharge Lal Bahadur Bind and created high drama on Saturday morning. A firstyear resident doctor at a medical institute in Vadodara, India was allegedly harassed by his seniors and this caused his health to deteriorate. The doctor's father has approached the institution's antiragging committee with a complaint, and the doctor has also claimed that he was not given any opportunity to rest despite his bad health. The family has decided to get the doctor treated at a hospital in Jamnagar, and the complaint alleges that the college has started an inquiry into the matter.

A two-year-old boy fell into a hole that was dug for laying a foundation for a building near a pond in the old city. The fire brigade was notified, and a team from the panigate fire station arrived.
