Opelousas resident on the Price is Right
"Come on down!" it's the call everyone has dreamed of hearing at some point in their life, but for Opelousas resident Devin Manuel it's a dream that came true when she became a contestant on the price is right.
OPELOUSAS, La. (KLFY) -- "Come on down!" it's the call everyone has dreamed of hearing at some point in their life, but for Opelousas resident Devin Manuel it's a dream that came true when she became a contestant on the price is right.
"We've been talking about it since the day it happened, and we're going to talk about it for years to come," said Manuel.
For Devin, Victoria, and Danielle the price is right was part of their childhood, watching it every day with their grandparents and seeing the legendary Bob Barker.
"I don't know what they're going to select to put on the show, but I told her I said Opelousas is going to be so proud of you because she was very entertaining," said Victoria.
As the trio has grown up, they've taken an annual girl's trip to bond and see the world, but this year they wanted to make it special and see their grandparent's favorite show.
"Just a random decision, let's go to LA. So, I said let's go to the price is right because the tickets were free. So, I'm going to sign up and wait to hear back," Victoria explained.
Not only did the group hear back, but they also went through the interview process with showrunners who selected Devin to take part in the show.
After receiving the call to come on down, Manuel brought the energy like only a Louisiana resident can.
"Naturally I have a lot of energy. Walking into the set, I had to up my energy times a hundred," Manuel explained.
With all of the excitement from the show, the trio says the hardest part was keeping everything a secret until the show airs.
"We never thought that we were going to make it! I was like; Victoria, Devin is really up there talking to everybody," said Danielle.
With the episode finally airing tonight, Lewis says they're excited to share the memories with their family.
"We have a watch party tonight at my mom's, having our family and friends over, so we're so excited! They're going to show me when we were all hugging each other and having nervous breakdowns, me and Danielle were holding hands saying she has to win," said Victoria.
The Price is Right will air here on CBS at 7 p.m.
