The Bayou Mardi Gras Parade, originally scheduled for Friday evening in downtown New Iberia, has been rescheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m.
NEW IBERIA, La. (KLFY) -- One of the first parades of the Carnival season has been postponed.
The Bayou Mardi Gras Parade, originally scheduled for Friday evening in downtown New Iberia, has been rescheduled for Sunday at 3 p.m., according to a Facebook post by the The Bayou Mardi Gras Association.
"After consulting with meteorologists from the National Weather Service, we have decided to postpone the parade due to the potential for rain and thunderstorms Friday evening," the post reads. "The safety of participants and all attendees remain the focus of our event. Expect the same great parade, now on Sunday at 3PM."
