Lake Arthur man arrested after allegedly stabbing girlfriend
A Lake Arthur man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend.
JENNINGS, La. (KLFY) – A Lake Arthur man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, authroities said.
According to the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Hwy. 26 South, near La. 1126 around 5 a.m. Wednesday about a reported stabbing. Deputies found the victim, who was being transported on Hwy. 26. The victim said they were stabbed by their boyfriend, Maxxwell Kirk Charles. The victim was then transported to a local area hospital.
Deputies searched the area but could not find Charles. Just before 11 a.m. dispatch told deputies that Charles had returned to his mother's residence on Andrus Cove Cemetery Road. On arrival, deputies discovered Charles had kicked in the rear door and was inside when he surrendered to deputies, officials said.
Maxxwell Kirk Charles, 26 of Lake Arthur was booked into the parish jail on charges of aggravated second degree battery and criminal damage to property. His bond has been set at $100,000.
