Anonymous tip lands 61-year-old Louisiana woman in jail for allegedly letting people sell narcotics from her home
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) -- On June 9, 2023, Monroe Police received information from an anonymous source, advising that a male subject was selling crack cocaine out of an apartment complex on Washington Street. Authorities learned that the residence belonged to 61-year-old Rosie Lee Jenkins who is known as "Momma Rose."
According to court documents, the anonymous source mentioned that Jenkins allegedly allowed different people to sell narcotics out of her residence in exchange for narcotics or money as payment. The source went on to mention that people were continuously in and out of the home throughout the day.
The cooperating witness assisted authorities by conducting a controlled purchase of narcotics in the suspect's home. The witness was picked up by authorities before the purchase and transported to a meeting location. The witness was provided with a recording device for the conversation that would take place between the witness and the male subject, according to authorities.
Upon arrival, the witness entered the apartment and two male subjects and two female subjects were inside. The witness was able to purchase the narcotics and they returned to authorities.
Two hours later, Monroe Police returned to the apartment complex and performed surveillance on the location. On January 24, 2024, the witness went on to conduct another controlled purchase at the apartment complex.
On January 25, 2024, Jenkins was arrested and charged with Letting a Disorderly Place.
