Cankton Elementary parent arrested after allegedly attacking school administrator
Police said Colby D. Tezeno, 35, of Opelousas, allegedly arrived on campus, approached an unnamed administrator and physically attacked the administrator.
CANKTON, La. (KLFY) -- A parent of a student at Cankton Elementary School was arrested after attacking an administrator at the school, authorities said.
Cankton Police along with St. Landry Sheriff Deputies responded Friday to a report of an apparent altercation which occurred between a parent and an administrator on the Cankton Elementary School campus.
Police said Colby D. Tezeno, 35, of Opelousas, allegedly arrived on campus, approached an unnamed administrator and physically attacked the administrator. The reasons for the altercation are still under investigation, authorities said.
Cankton Police Chief J. Brent Breaux said video evidence obtained at the scene was sufficient to charge Tezeno and book him into the St. Landry Parish Jail for battery of a school official. Bond details were not released.
"No matter the accusation we can not take matters like these into our own hands," Breaux said. "Let law enforcement do its job and come to the appropriate conclusion, then take appropriate actions."
The investigation is still ongoing, officials said.
